HR Leader and Business Partner - Hemphill Exclusive

This HR leadership position reports to the head of HR at corporate headquarters while focused on delivering HR leadership and solutions to the President, leadership team and all employees of a large division of this impressive company.

As the HR leader for this division, you will enjoy a beautiful West Omaha office while partnering with the President, COO, and the rest of the leadership team who are located in Omaha and their Midwest offices.  

Roll up your sleeves while partnering with executives and front line managers to ensure the company recruits, develops, and retains top talent. 

  • Build relationships with technical schools and universities to create a productive internship program and on-campus recruiting initiatives that produce a pipeline of high quality new hires to support the continued growth of the company.
  • Source, pre-screen, and help select candidates for open positions while keeping standards high to ensure the company is hiring individuals well positioned for success and a long-term career. 
  • Coordinate and lead pre-employment steps, new-employee orientation and onboarding activities.
  • Identify and partner with the best search and staffing firms to attract the best talent at headquarters, plant, and regional locations so the company has the talent to sustain their continued growth. 

Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to managers and executives on all human resource matters.  Be the leader who advises, and advances a culture where recruiting, training, developing, and retaining top talent is always a priority. 

Engage with employees and managers to ensure performance issues are addressed and next steps are managed.

Work closely with the safety team to ensure that a culture of safety continues to be a priority.

Maintain active relationships built upon trust and support for all employees.  Take the lead while assisting employees with questions, concerns, or the need for medical leave or workers compensation claims.  Coordinate with HR shared services department to ensure all divisional employees are receiving excellent service specific to benefits or payroll questions.

Take an active role in leading the training, leadership, and organizational development for all employees so that each associate is learning while striving toward their full potential.

Work with head of HR at corporate and the leadership team while managing special projects, implementing process improvement, and new systems to drive efficiency.

    I have enjoyed recruiting accounting and finance professionals for corporations in Omaha and throughout the upper Midwest for nearly 30 years. I joined Robert Half International in 1988 and was promoted to Director in 1993. In 1998, I earned their "Chairman's Club" award for leadership. In February 2000, I made the decision to "live my dream" and founded Hemphill Search Group, following with Hemphill Staffing Solutions in 2001. I am proud of our team, the progress we've made to date, and I am even more excited about our future growth!

I later completed the Entrepreneurial Masters Program at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). I am an active supporter of Financial Executives International (FEI) and I am a proud member of The Association for Corporate Growth of Nebraska (ACG Nebraska). I am a Charter Member of the Nebraska Chapter of the Entrepreneurs Organization (EO), where I served several years on their Board of Directors. As a Director of the American Association of Finance and Accounting (AAFA), the oldest and largest alliance of executive search firms specializing in the recruitment and staffing of Finance and Accounting professionals, I gain exposure to national issues and trends. I have served as a member of the Alumni Board of Buena Vista University where I am committed to giving back to the students and leadership team of Buena Vista University. I am also an active member of Westside Church in Omaha.

    My wife Susie and I have four children, Cameron, Austin, Miles and Carmel.
