Accounting / Finance Recruiting Manager - Entrepreneurial Position with Significant Income

Hemphill Search Group is adding two Recruiting Managers to our Accounting & Finance division.  The new members of our team will deliver solutions to long-standing clients who are already loyal to Hemphill, and they will serve new clients who have turned to Hemphill’s leadership and track record of success when adding key players to their accounting, finance, tax, treasury, audit, FP&A, and M&A departments. 75% of CPAs will retire in the next 15 years and the number of individuals stepping into the profession is significantly less, so the demand for talented financial professionals will not go away.

The Recruiting Manager position at Hemphill Search Group is a high-profile, high-impact role in a fast paced, results oriented, high integrity culture.  Our Recruiting Managers establish close partnerships with leaders in accounting, finance, strategy, FP&A, M&A, tax, treasury, and audit in Omaha’s most impressive companies. In this position, you will become a trusted advisor while delivering valuable solutions when leaders are making some of their most important decisions: adding the right players to their team!

The process of partnering with Business Owners, CEOs, CFOs, Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managers while selecting the right individual with the right work experience, industry knowledge, personality, drive, and ambition who will be successful and happy long-term is important work that makes a positive impact in our community.    

In this position, you will be in charge of the search from start to finish, and you will maintain a consultative relationship with the hiring authority and the placed candidate for years to come.

  • Each search starts by teaming up with the executive to determine the ideal profile, work experience, industry knowledge, personality, drive, and ambition that will lead the new employee to success and happiness in the position. 
  • You will complete and provide compensation analysis and recommendations to the hiring authority and top executives to ensure the compensation package is appropriate.    
  • This position involves significant analysis and a lot of daily interaction with financial professionals.  Work with the team of industry leaders at Hemphill while taking ownership for all analysis associated with sourcing and selecting the top candidates for the position. This process includes analysis of personality and cognitive assessments, interviews to understand the experience, industry knowledge, outcomes, accomplishments, strengths, weaknesses, interests, and career goals of each candidate considered.
  • Analyze and think strategically while selecting individuals who will thrive in the position, on the team, within the industry, while considering the pace of the company’s growth, culture, and making sure the individual is well matched with the core values of the company and management style of the top executives.
  • Coordinate all interviews and debriefing with the hiring authority and top candidates to determine which individual is best matched for success and happiness short and long-term.
  • Take ownership for due diligence while working with reference providers and Hemphill’s network to understand strengths, weaknesses, experience, and actual outcomes from previous direct supervisors to validate we have selected the right individual for the position.
  • Partner with the leader and selected candidate to negotiate and structure the right compensation package, extend the offer of employment, then guide the chosen candidate through counteroffer management.  When we have filled the position, we help the leaders and the individual we placed celebrate their win over lunch, dinner, cocktails, golf, or a fun event!

As a Director of the American Association of Finance and Accounting (AAFA), the oldest and largest alliance of executive search firms specializing in the recruitment and staffing of Finance and Accounting professionals, I gain exposure to national issues and trends. I have served as a member of the Alumni Board of Buena Vista University where I am committed to giving back to the students and leadership team of Buena Vista University.
