Wendy has more than 11 years of experience in the recruitment and staffing industry, and more than 6 years of leadership on our team. 

Wendy has forged strong relationships with leaders in human resources throughout her career as a search executive and is Omaha’s leader in human resources recruiting.  She delivers search services focused on all aspects of the human resources field including: compensation & benefits, safety, recruiting and staffing, affirmative action, employee relations, training and development and benefits administration.  Wendy is known for her quality-focused selection approach, while taking the time to ensure that “the right match” for the client company and the individual we place is achieved.  As a Professional of Human Resources (PHR), Wendy has a keen understanding of the advanced trends, laws and innovative approaches in the field of human resources and recruiting.  She is an active member of Human Resources of the Midlands (HRAM), and eager to provide assistance to her fellow human resources professionals.

After a career in restaurant management and more than three years in customer service and as a Trainer with a financial software firm, Wendy was recruited into Robert Half International’s Accountemps Division.  She was recognized as a top performer and promoted to Director of Accountemps in 1998, where under Wendy’s leadership, Accountemps reached record performance levels, which still stand today.  Wendy teamed up with Dan Hemphill to launch Hemphill Staffing Solutions in September of 2001.  After the successful launch of Hemphill Staffing Solutions, and in response to the consistent demand from our client companies, Wendy accepted the challenge of launching the Human Resources Division of Hemphill Search Group in 2004.

Wendy is a native of Omaha and a graduate of Millard North High School. In May 1987, Wendy graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration.  Wendy is our Social Chairman with hobbies including golf, travel, spending time with friends, and the careful selection of Mr. Right.  

Karen Guenette brings over 20 years of experience in human resources and administration to her role as Recruiting Specialist for Hemphill Search Group where she supports a team of Recruiting Managers while coordinating database integrity, analysis, research, and selection analytics.

Karen started her career in human resources and then progressed into the search and staffing profession where she honed her skills in sourcing, interviewing, and selection.  After moving to Omaha, Karen continued to refine her skills while gaining valuable experience in recruiting and selection analysis while working in the human resources department of a large local corporation.

Karen grew up in Durham, North Carolina, and is a passionate Duke fan. She and her husband Gunnar, a musician in the popular local group Acoustic Groove, together have four children, Tyler, Katie, Ally, and Graham. She enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and listening to her husband sing!
